China donates 20,000 face masks to the Maldives

China has donated 20,000 face masks to the Maldives as assistance to the efforts against COVID-19.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed the masks were donated by Suzhou City, China. The ministry said the masks will be used for the efforts of Male’ City Council in containing the spread of COVID-19.

China has made several donations to the Maldives amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In this regard, multiple Chinese enterprises have donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), face masks and ventilators to the Maldives. Meanwhile, Chinese construction companies have also been assisting COVID-19 related infrastructure development in the Maldives.
