Only registered employees to be permitted on construction sites

Male’ City Council has stated only employees registered under the relevant construction company will be permitted to work in construction sites of Male’.

The city council has stated construction companies are required to seek a permit from the city council before resuming any work at construction sites in Male’, following the eased lockdown restrictions. Construction companies are required to register at the Faseyha Magu portal in the website of Male’ City Council, and submit the relevant form and documents via email.

Male’ City Council stated the required documents include work permits of the individuals working on the site. The city council has stated permits will only be issued for individuals registered in the Ministry of Economic Development as employees of the construction company seeking the permit.

Meanwhile, Maldives National Association of Construction Industry (MNACI) has issued a safety guideline for construction sites to follow amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The guideline mandates construction workers to wear face masks at all times during work, and to regularly disinfect frequently used equipment. Measures must also be imposed to reduce crowding on the site.
