Restrictions eased in Fuvahmulah City

Fuvahmulah City Council has decided to ease some of the restrictions imposed in the city amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the Maldives, the city council banned the opening of shops and other businesses, allowing only delivery services. The ring road of the city was also closed for the public between 1600hrs and 0000hrs every day.

However, upon easing restrictions, shops in Fuvahmulah are now allowed to be opened. Salons, garages, carpentries and other businesses are also now allowed to resume operations. Meanwhile, restrictions on using the ring road have been lifted.

Although restrictions have been eased, the city council has urged the public to follow safety precautions against COVID-19 and maintain cleanliness. The city council has also encouraged the public to choose take-away and delivery services over dine-in or shopping. Service providers have been instructed to use gloves and face masks at all times when serving customers.
