IGCSE O’Level and SSC exam postponed

Ministry of Education has postponed IGCSE O' Level and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations scheduled for October/November this year.

The education ministry said the decision has been made as schools will not be able to complete the syllabus and prepare for the examinations in time due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The ministry further announced it is working to reschedule the examinations and it is considering options that reduce the impact of a change on students.

Additionally, the ministry has also decided to revise the assignment deadlines for BTEC stream students. BTEC stream is a vocational educational pathway for students interested in learning through research, field visits, and projects.

The change in O' Level and SSC exams are not expected to change the examination dates for Key Stage 5, which are grades 11 and 12.
