Efforts to disinfect and clean roads of Addu City have commenced as part of efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The programme is jointly initiated by Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) and Addu City Council. Vehicles of the fire and rescue team of MNDF chlorinated the roads of Addu City, as part of the programme.
The city council said roads of all wards of Addu will be cleaned on different days. The council added selling fish and food items at spots in the roads have been restricted until further notice, in order to facilitate the disinfection programme.
Meanwhile, MNDF and Male' City Council have commenced cleaning projects in Male', Hulhumale' and Villimale as well.
