Latest samples test negative for COVID-19

National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has revealed the latest samples tested for COVID-19 have turned negative.

Speaking at a press conference, Spokesperson of NEOC Mohamed Mabrouq Azeez said any individuals showing the slightest symptoms will be tested for COVID-19. While 571 samples have been collected in total, he said 502 have tested negative and 15 tests are pending results.

Furthermore, the spokesperson noted several Maldivians are returning back to the country, adding 79 individuals are currently kept in isolation and quarantine facilities. In this regard, 25 people are kept in Vilivaru, 75 people are kept in Hulhule' Island Hotel (HIH), 16 people are kept in Velidhoo, 51 people are kept in Fun Island and 23 people are kept in DH11 at Dharumavantha Hospital. Mabrouq also highlighted 3 Maldivians who travelled to Russia are kept in quarantine for a period of 5 days.

The positive cases for COVID-19 remain at 13 and all are in a stable condition. The positive COVID-19 cases were from all resorts and a safari. The positive cases include 5 from Kuredu Island Resort, 2 from Sandies Bathala Maldives, 2 from Kuramathi Island Resort Maldives, 2 from Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort and 2 from Island Safari.
