PPM launches campaign for LCE and WDC in 3 atolls

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has launched campaign for local council elections (LCE) and women's development committee (WDC) elections in three atolls.

The campaign team accompanying several members of the PPM leadership will hold activities in Lhaviyani Atoll, Raa Atoll and Noonu Atoll. During the visits, the campaign team will hold door-to-door activities and campaign gatherings seeking support for PPM candidates.

In the upcoming LCE, 679 candidates are competing with the backing of PPM, while 517 candidates are competing in WDC elections from PPM. The elections are scheduled to be held on April 4.

According to Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM), 269,562 individuals are eligible to vote in the elections.
