Aas resigns from Asset Recovery Commission

Aas Abdulla has resigned from the Presidential Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery.

Announcing his resignation on Twitter, Aas Abdulla thanked President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for appointing him as a member of the commission.

Following the resignation of Aas, the commission now consists of President Ahmed Assad and members Nadheem Ibrahim, Aminath Hassan and Fathimath Sareera.


The asset recovery commission has announced the final report of the cases concluded has now been compiled. The biggest case probed by the commission is the money laundering scandal of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).

President Solih established the asset recovery commission to recuperate the lost assets of the state from January 1, 2012 to November 17, 2018 and to ensure that all responsible authorities carry out the legal duties in investigating corruption and abuse of power within the state institutions.
