JSC to remove Chief Magistrate of Kanduhulhudhoo

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to remove Chief Magistrate Hassan Didi from Kanduhulhudhoo Magistrate Court. The decision was made at the 18th meeting of JSC and has been forwarded to the Parliament of Maldives.

JSC investigated seven cases involving Chief Magistrate Hassan Didi. JSC stated the first case against Didi was reported in April 2019, after which six more cases were reported against him.

The commission took action against Didi over cases involving sexual abuse and harassment of employees, using abusive language and showing pornographic videos to employees. Didi has also been accused of forcing employees to act in violation of the financial regulations and using court property for personal use, as well as obstructing witness statements and encouraging violence.

JSC revealed the decision to remove him was made as the investigation showed Didi violated the disciplinary standards of judges.
