Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has commenced bus operations to the additional route located in Carnival area in Male' City.
Speaking at the ceremony held to launch the bus operations, CEO of MPL Shahid Ali said the new bus operations were launched after extensive preparations. He added there will be buses in operation every 20 minutes, while the operations will continue from morning until midnight.
Furthermore, CEO Shahid said efforts are underway to establish additional routes near Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), noting buses from carnival area will make a stop at artificial beach. Shahid highlighted buses operating from carnival area to Hulhumale' will be few compared to the buses operating from Greater Male' Bus Terminal to Hulhumale'. He said detailed information of the routes and operations will be available from the mobile application.
MPL revealed about 5,000 people travel between Male' and Hulhumale' on a daily basis.
