The committee investigating public housing schemes has requested all eligible candidates who have applied for public housing under the Hiyaa Scheme to provide their contact details to the committee. The request was made in a press release issued today by the President’s Office.
The committee stated surveys and screening prior to awarding housing are currently underway in 5 categories, which are H13, H12, H5, H4 and H15. The committee has announced all individuals falling under those categories who have not been contacted yet, are required to call the hotline number 7761108 before 3:00 pm on February 11, 2020. If the call is not answered, they are required to send a text message.
In the presidential address delivered at the Parliament of Maldives yesterday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih assured the recipients of flats under Hiyaa housing scheme will be awarded their flats this year. The president noted there are over 20,000 families in need of affordable housing in Male’ region alone.
