Ambassador of Maldives to India Aishath Mohamed Didi has stated the seven Maldivians evacuated to India from Wuhan City, China are in good health.
Speaking to PSM News, Ambassador Aishath said the embassy is closely monitoring the situation of all quarantined Maldivians, adding the embassy is doing daily checks on them.
A Maldivian man, a child and five women have been kept at a quarantine facility located outside New Delhi, along with 323 Indians evacuated from Wuhan. They were evacuated from Wuhan last Sunday on an Air India flight and will stay at the facility for two weeks.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrangements have been made for the families of the quarantined Maldivians to communicate with them. The ministry has also been providing any necessary assistance.
The deadly virus which originated in Wuhan has now spread to the whole of China as well as 24 other countries and territories with over 20,000 infected, resulting in over 400 deaths.
