JSC to probe into disciplinary case against Judge Ibrahim Ali

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to form an investigation committee to probe into a disciplinary case against Criminal Court Judge Ibrahim Ali.

Following a meeting held today, JSC stated the commission will form an investigation committee to probe the case against Judge Ibrahim Ali, in accordance to the JSC Act. During the meeting, the commission also decided to request Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) to arrange a mechanism to continue trials of cases overseen by judges who are under investigation by JSC.

Furthermore, JSC has also decided to accept the retirement of the Chief Magistrate of Mulaku Magistrate Court Hassan Zareer. During the meeting, the commission stated Zareer, 62, will be allowed to step down from the court in accordance to the retirement regulations which state a judge above 55 years of age can seek retirement upon request due to ill-health.
