Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure has contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to construct a harbour in Meedhoo, Dhaalu Atoll.
The agreement for the project was signed by Director General of Planning Ministry Fathimath Shana Faarooq and COO of MTCC Shahid Hussain Moosa. Under the agreement, the construction of the harbour will consist of dredging 15,578 cubic metres along with the construction of a 373 metre breakwater.
Moreover, the agreement requires MTCC to construct 294 metres of quay wall, 35 metres of revetment and 1,470 square metres of pavement. Additionally, the agreement includes installation of 15 harbour lights, 2 channel lights and 10 mooring blocks.
The project is estimated to cost USD 2.38 million and is expected to be completed within 408 days.
