President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has held discussions with members of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
During the meeting, the members of ACC shared information on the cases received to the commission and elaborated on the process the commission takes to investigate a matter. The members further explained the process the commission takes prior to requesting a project to be halted.
The members further emphasised ACC is currently in discussion with government agencies to formulate preventive measures against corruption, restating their mandate is not only to investigate cases but also to serve as a deterrent to corruption through proactive action.
President Solih thanked the members of ACC for their valuable contributions towards eliminating corruption in Maldives, adding no government official, including himself, should be allowed to influence ACC. He also reiterated that the Zero Tolerance to Corruption is a key policy of his administration and vital for good governance, and encouraged the members to take preventive measures and create further awareness regarding corruption.
