Ministry of Environment has conducted discussions with relevant authorities to compile a policy determining the best practices in managing solid waste.
The meeting, inaugurated by Minister of Environment Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan, was held under the Maldives Clean Environment Project. During the workshop, discussions were held on how to determine a solution to dispose solid waste dumped by households.
Speaking at the ceremony, Environment Minister Hussain Rasheed said waste management policies are not implemented effectively, adding one main aim of the workshop is to ensure such policies are properly implemented.
Clean Environment Project, funded by World Bank, aims to improve solid waste management in selected zones. The project is to be concluded on 2023.
