Maldives Customs Service has signed an agreement with Addu City Council to establish a south regional head office in Maradhoo, Addu City.
In a special function held in Maradhoo, the agreement was signed by Deputy Commissioner of Customs Abdulla Shareef and Addu City Mayor Abdulla Sodiq. Several senior officials of state institutions in Addu attended the signing ceremony.
During the ongoing visit to Addu by Deputy Commissioner Shareef, another agreement will be signed with Addu International Airport to issue a land plot for the construction of the new customs office in the airport.
Customs is currently providing its services in 9 regions across the atolls, including Uligan, Hanimaadhoo, Thilafushi, Thulusdhoo, Gan and Villingili. The institution also provides services in Kulhudhuffushi City as well as Gan and Hithadhoo in Addu City.
