Prosecutor General's Office (PG Office) has begun exploring avenues within the legal framework to determine actions which can be taken against parents who do not vaccinate their children.
In response to a tweet asking whether any legal action can be taken against such cases, Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem clarified the legal procedure, noting parents are required to vaccinate children under the Child Rights Protection Act. He added the act details legal action against violators.
The prosecutor general said the act comes into effect on February 20. However, he added PG Office will look into other legal avenues to address the issue.
