Ministry of Education has revealed it has not come across a case of any student who was not vaccinated before enrolment, citing information received on schools enrolling unvaccinated children.
Speaking on a programme aired on PSM news, Deputy Minister of Education Mohamed Ihusan said policies ensure every child is vaccinated before enrolment. Deputy Minister Ihusan said the education ministry keeps record of 212 public schools in addition to private schools. He noted the ministry, in collaboration with Health Protection Agency (HPA), has given boost doses if it was identified a student was not vaccinated fully.
Moreover, Senior Policy Director at Education Ministry Moosa Adam stated vaccination information are warranted when enrolling to schools.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Health has revealed information of two schools which enroll students without guaranteeing the students were vaccinated. In this regard, the health ministry said one school in Addu City, in addition to another school, have been enrolling students without ensuring vaccination information.
