Hoarafushi Airport development project opened for bidding

Ministry of Finance has opened bidding for the airport development project in Hoarafushi, Haa Alifu Atoll and the construction of a fire station.

The finance ministry said the project has been opened for bidding upon request from Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA). The notice issued by finance ministry highlighted a non-refundable amount of USD 32 must be paid to take part in the bidding for the project. Moreover, a bid security of USD 4,855 must also be paid for the project within 148 days of the announcement for the project.

The government contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to reclaim land required for the development of the airport. Hoarafushi has a population of over 3,000 people.
