Airports Authority of India has begun training Maldivian fire fighters.
The training programme, initiated by Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of Maldives, Ministry of External Affairs of India and the Embassy of India in Maldives, will be held in India. 20 firefighters from Hanimaadhoo International Airport, Kulhudhuffushi Airport, Funadhoo Airport and Maavaarulu Airport are taking part in the 4-month training programme, according to the transport ministry.
The administration aims to ensure safety and security at the airports and has an agreement with the Government of India to train Maldivian fire fighters.
