CEO of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) Shahid Ali has stated there are several issues which need to be addressed in the Male' Commercial Harbour. Shahid made the remarks while addressing the ceremony held to conclude the safety week of MPL.
Addressing the conclusion of the week long safety workshop, CEO of MPL stated many issues were highlighted during the safety week. Noting the largest port is not only used by MPL staff, Shahid said it was noticed the safety standard procedures are not followed by staff of other institutions.
Shahid spoke on the importance of implementing a standard for everyone working at the commercial harbour. He said it was identified for some reasons the operations of the harbour are slow, adding all such issues will be solved. He mentioned while the commercial harbour is one place that is prone to accidents and incidents, there are not enough safety measures.
