Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has handed over the Tourist Public Restrooms developed at Fishermen’s Park to Male’ City Council (MCC).
Addressing the ceremony, the managing director of MWSC said the biggest contribution to the economic sector is made by the tourists adding special arrangements must be made for the tourists. Further, Azim expressed gratitude for the opportunity extended by MCC to work together to develop Male’ city.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Male’ city stated while tourism sector is the largest contributor to the economy, it is crucial that tourists are not neglected and provided convenient public amenities such as restrooms. The Mayor added the restrooms will be opened as soon as necessary maintenance arrangements are made.
The tourist public restrooms were developed by MWSC as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project of the company.
MWSC along with MCC began the development of the facility in September. The facility is developed with 12 restrooms, guest relations office and a waiting area for tourists.
