Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has stated amendments will be proposed to 20 regulations of tourism sector next year.
Speaking at the ceremony held to announce the islands which will be leased for tourist activities next year, the tourism minister said from the pending works of this year, the highest priority will be given to amend regulations and laws related to the tourism sector.
One main aim of the tourism ministry under the new administration is promoting local tourism. In this regard, the ministry has this year inspected over 1,061 tourist establishments to further improve the facilities.
