Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has revealed there are no ulterior motives behind the agreement signed with the Elections Commission of India.
Speaking to PSM News, Vice President of ECM Ahmed Akram stated there is no secrecy in the MoU signed by the elections commission of both countries. The MoU focuses on improving relations assured Akram, adding under the agreement, trainings will be conducted for the staff of ECM and on sharing information regarding elections held in both countries.
Slamming claims the MoU was signed to alter the results of the upcoming local council election, Akram assured a free, fair and credible election. He further said all procedures of the election will be held in a transparent manner.
