President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has expressed development to the country will be brought as aspired by the citizens and by granting powers and authority to the people.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the first-ever councilors conference “Viavathi Rajje”, President Solih spoke on crucial authorities granted to the councils. The president revealed when bringing development to the country, importance will be given to ensure the developments are aspired by the citizens adding with the ratification of the amendments brought to the decentralization act, it will enable to work closer to people.
Furthermore, president advised to refrain from misusing the powers granted to the councilors and to ensure services are provided without discrimination. He reiterated he does not wish to grab all powers to the central state.
