Foreign Minister discusses on ways to speed up projects with India

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has held discussions with the Foreign Secretary of India, Vijay Gokhale, on speeding up the projects collaborated with the Government of India.

During the meeting held in Delhi today, Minister Shahid and Foreign Secretary Gokhale reviewed the ongoing projects and spoke about ways in which the implementation of the projects could be expedited.

Foreign Secretary Gokhale welcomed Minister Shahid to Delhi, and conveyed details regarding the upcoming Joint Commission Meeting. The foreign minister also expressed appreciation to the Indian government for the continued efforts and assistance provided, and assured his commitment to increasing cooperation between the two countries in various areas that are of mutual benefit.

Foreign Minister Shahid is in Delhi to attend the sixth Joint Commission Meeting to be held on December 13. The Joint Commission Meeting is being led by foreign ministers of Maldives and India respectively.
