Husnu Suood resigns from DDCom

President of the Commission on Investigating Murders and Enforced Disappearances (DDCom) Husnu Suood has resigned from the position.

Spokesperson of the President’s Office Ibrahim Hood confirmed a letter of resignation was sent to the President’s Office.

The resignation comes at a time when the Parliament approved the appointment of Suood as a Supreme Court judge was approved with votes from 64 parliamentarians. Only one parliamentarian voted against the appointment.

Husnu Suood had previously served as the Attorney General during the administration of former President Mohamed Nasheed.
