Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has paid courtesy calls on President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Foreign Minister Shahid met with the Sri Lankan President and Prime Minister in two separate meetings. During the meetings, the foreign minister conveyed his greetings and well wishes to the government and the citizens of Sri Lanka on behalf of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The minister also reiterated the commitment of Maldives to work closely with the Government of Sri Lanka to further consolidate the strong bonds of friendship that has long existed between the two countries. He expressed confidence that the existing ties of friendship and cooperation that both countries enjoy will continue to flourish under the leadership of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
