Every Maldivian is a priority, regardless of country of residence: Vice President

Vice President Faisal Naseem has said the administration attaches as high priority to assisting citizens residing abroad as it does to citizens residing in the Maldives. The vice president made the statement while meeting Maldivians living in Thiruvananthapuram at a special function held this evening at Hotel Apollo.

Upon arrival at the function, Vice President Naseem was received by Ambassador of Maldives to India Aishath Mohamed Didi.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Faisal Naseem urged all Maldivians living abroad to conform to the rules and regulations of their respective residential countries. Emphasising the important role of the Indian government in easing immeasurable issues faced by Maldivians, the vice president commended the efforts by the Government of India.

Vice President Naseem further reaffirmed the commitment of the administration to serving the Maldivian people, assuring the administration remains steadfast in its resolve to assist all Maldivians. He urged all Maldivians to hold on to the holy virtues of Islam and nationalism, regardless of where they may reside.

The vice president also met and spoke with Maldivian families gathered at the event. The function was attended by members of the Consulate of Maldives in India as well as many Maldivians visiting and residing in the country.
