Aishath Bisham has resigned from the position of Prosecutor General (PG) of Maldives.
In a tweet, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said he had received the resignation of the prosecutor general and thanked her services during her tenure.
Bisham resigned as the PG at a time Parliamentary Committee on Judiciary was seeking to dismiss her on allegations of negligence in taking responsibility and providing false information.
Bisham was appointed as the PG during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on November 24, 2015.
