JSC investigating additional case against Chief Justice

Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has decided to probe into another disciplinary issue of Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi.

Chief Justice Abdulla Didi is investigated as he had accused the secretary general of the Supreme Court of conspiring a coup against the current bench of judges in collaborating with the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA). JSC further says the Abdulla Didi warned to dismiss him from his position should the secretary general communicates with DJA.

In a press statement, JSC revealed it had received information of Abdulla Didi instructing the Secretary General to disregard the new policies of JSC based on the increment amendments to Judicature Act of Maldives

It further said the chief justice of the top court instructed his staff to discontinue all communications with JSC.
