Senoc Trade Combine to establish a drainage system in Thinadhoo

Ministry of Environment has contracted Senoc Trade Combine Private Limited to establish a drainage system in Thinadhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.

The agreement for the project was signed by Minister of Environment Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan and Accountant at Senoc Trade Combine Prabath Ravanpoora.

Environment ministry says the project worth USD 2.460 million will solve the flooding issues in the island due to heavy rain.

During his visit to the island, the environment minister signed an agreement with Thinadhoo Island Council to develop a 2 megawatt solar farm and to install an incinerator at the waste management centre. He also held discussions with the island council regarding the issues waste management and soil erosion.

The minister inspected the water purifying system sewerage system, storm water pumping station and power house of the island.
