Parliament of Maldives has opened opportunity for the public to submit opinion on the nominations proposed by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to be appointed as the Commissioner General of Taxation and as the Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation.
President Solih nominated Fathulla Jameel and Ismail Nashid to be appointed as the Commissioner General of Taxation. He also nominated Mohamed Siraj Muneer, Asma Shafeeu, Ismail Sajid, Ahmed Shareef, Ahmed Wafir and Hamdhee Aqeel to be appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Taxation.
Former Commissioner General of Taxation Yazeed Mohamed was dismissed once President Solih ratified the Second Amendment to the Tax Administration Act, which stipulates the Commissioner General of Taxation must be appointed within 30 days from the date of ratification.
Secretariat of Parliament said opinion on the nominations can be submitted until October 21.
