Maldives have held a workshop on minimising the impacts of terrorism on the tourism sector.
The two-day workshop titled Resort Security Response Management Workshop would be held in Kurumba Maldives. Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed inaugurated the workshop that was attended by senior police officers, officials from the tourism ministry and the heads of the International Protect and Prepare project.
The workshop is jointly organised by Maldives Police Service and Ministry of Tourism under the UK-based International Protect and Prepare project. The workshop will cover the standard responses in case of terrorist attacks and the dependability of such responses. The participants will also be instructed on the safety measures and plan of action after an attack.
The workshop is attended by 39 participants including general managers and security managers.
