Fathulla and Nashid nominated for Commissioner General of Taxation

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has nominated Fathulla Jameel and Ismail Nashid to be appointed as the Commissioner General of Taxation.

President Solih also nominated Mohamed Siraj Muneer, Asma Shafeeu, Ismail Sajid, Ahmed Shareef, Ahmed Wafir and Hamdhee Aqeel to be appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Taxation.

The nominations have been forwarded for evaluation to the Parliamentary Commission on Independent Institutions.

Former Commissioner General of Taxation Yazeed Mohamed was dismissed once President Solih ratified the Second Amendment to the Tax Administration Act, which stipulates the Commissioner General of Taxation must be appointed within 30 days from the date of ratification.
