Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen has announced Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital in Haa Dhaalu Atoll would very soon be equipped with MRI services.
Speaking at an event held to officially launch the new cardiac and CT scan centre in Kulhudhuffushi, Minister Ameen said one of the top priorities of the administration is to ensure health services without long distance travel from one island to another, and the beginning of CT scan and cardiac centre services is a landmark and a stepping stone for such an approach to health service delivery.
The minister also highlighted that this is the first of such centres in atolls outside the capital of the country. He further said the centres have the capacity to serve a population of 60-thousand people.
The hospital will also see the addition of beds to adhere to international standards of a tertiary hospital. The administration intends to develop Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital to ensure health services without travel from one island to the other.
Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital is one of the most sought-after hospitals in the country.
