Tourism Ministry to grant assistance to tourists from Thomas Cook

Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has assured assistance will be granted to all the tourists who travelled to Maldives from Thomas Cook to return back to their countries.

Thomas Cook UK Plc and associated UK entities filed for bankruptcy and have entered Compulsory Liquidation after being declared the company is unable to pay its USD 2.1 billion debt.

Many tourists are stranded all over the world after Thomas Cook, the oldest holiday company got bankrupt. Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has opened a help desk at Velana International Airport (VIA) to assist tourists from Thomas Cook to return home.

The ministry has informed resort to send all the required information concerning tourists who arrived on Thomas Cook holiday.
