Financial aid granted to flood affected homes in Thinadhoo

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has granted financial assistance to the homes affected by flooding in Thinadhoo. The island was affected during the heavy rain in last January.

NDMA has been informed by Thinadhoo Island Council that a total of 110 houses were affected and property destroyed in the recent floods. The most heavily affected homes have been granted about USD 41,628 on September 12.

Seven water pumping stations are planned to be installed at a cost of USD 2.5 million, according to Thinadhoo Island Council.
