The Opposition Coalition defines the 19th Parliament as the least productive, so far.

Addressing a press conference, Member of Parliament for Naifaru Constituency Mohamed Shiyam explained, the parliament have not been productive and that the work of the Parliament has been aimed at achieving a personal agenda.

While the primary responsibility of a parliament must be making laws and attending to matters of concerns of the people, the current parliament focuses on amending certain laws to enable their preferred nominations after dismissing the people holding certain positions, he highlighted.

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) Ibrahim Shujau said, a PPM has been planned a rally on the carnival grounds on September 13.

According to the opposition coalition, the purpose of this rally is to remind the government of their transgressions and pledges made to people.
