Judicial Administrator Dr. Abdulla Nazeer has stated secret witnesses can now testify in 100 courts across Maldives.
Speaking at the Court Administrator's Workshop organised by Department of Judicial Administration (DJA), Dr. Nazeer explained the courts are being reformed according to the Criminal Procedures Act. He further explained that audio and video recording facilities have been arranged in 100 courts, while the remaining courts will follow suit in the near future.
Dr. Nazeer explained the efforts of DJA to connect all courts through a network to enable a more efficient and a swift service. He highlighted the workshop aims to develop court administration which is essential for a quality service. He further expressed the importance of a case management system for the courts to increase service delivery in courts.
DJA has successfully installed case management systems in 39 courts in Maldives.
