Due process shall be followed in arrests: Home Minister

Ministry of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has said that rule of law and due process shall be observed even when making arrests.

In a tweet, Minister Imran expressed the public has always demanded due process and to follow fair practices, adding the administration must also be just towards criminals. He made the remark following the assurance given by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih that the administration would take immediate legal actions based on the findings by the presidential commission on the abduction and murder of journalist Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla. He assured relevant authorities are prepared to take immediate actions against the individuals involved in the case.

President Solih also assured the administration would facilitate necessary arrests and provide any information required by the commission investigating the case.
