President appoints new members to ACC

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed new members to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

In a function held at the President’s Office, President Solih appointed Fathimath Anoola, Mariyam Shiuna, Aishath Abdulla and Ali Ashraf as members of ACC.

Fathimath Anoola previously served on the Presidential Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery and attained her first degree in Shariah and Law at the Maldives College of Higher Education.

Mariyam Shiuna previously served as Executive Director at Transparency Maldives and is currently studying for her PhD in International Development.

Aishath Abdulla previously served as an Audit Executive at Ministry of Finance and attained her first degree in Accounting and Finance at Maldives National University (MNU).

Ali Ashraf previously served at various managerial level positions at Villa College, including the post of Director of Marketing. He is currently enrolled in the Masters of Business Administration programme at the University of Western England.

Before being presented their letters of appointment, the four individuals took the oath of membership of ACC, administered by Supreme Court Judge Adam Mohamed Abdulla.

On August 25, President Solih had appointed Mohamed Shakeel to ACC.

Following the appointments of new members, ACC appointed Mariyam Shiuna as its president and Fathimath Anoola as its vice president

ACC consists of five members and was first established on October 16, 2008.
