Maldives to address United Nations Trade Forum: SDGS and Climate Change

Ministry of Environment has revealed Maldives will address the United Nations Trade Forum: SDGs and Climate Change.

Minister of Environment Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan will address the trade forum on behalf of Maldives. The forum will be held from September 9-13 in Geneva, Switzerland.

United Nations Trade Forum: SDGs and Climate Change is held to boost ambition and accelerate actions to implement the Paris Agreement on Climate Change in preparation for the 2019 Climate Summit on September 23 by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres to meet the climate challenge.

The trade forum is meant as a contribution to the Summit from the trade and developmental community. It will bring into focus the need for action on the means of implementation of finance, technology and capacity building and the role of trade as an enabling factor in meeting this need and leveraging the various co-benefits from economic diversification, jobs, innovation, better management and communications.
