Parliament of Maldives has received 26 nominations for the 2 positions vacant at Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom).
The nominations forwarded by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih include key figures who have worked in media in the past and the present. In this regard, Shifla Ibrahim, Mohamed Hilmy, Ahmed Gais, Ali Yousuf, Amira Adam, Ahmed Fairooz, Jaufar Rasheed, Aishath Dhiyana Thahir, Sofa Saleem and Nafees Mohamed tops the list presented by the president. The positions in Broadcom were left vacant following the resignation of Hassan Nabah and Ismail Sofwan.
Furthermore, Parliamentary Committee on Independent Institutions has also approved to remove Fathimath Zeyna and Mohamed Shaheeb from the commission.
