Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal has departed on official trips to Thailand and Sri Lanka.
In the first leg of his trip, Major General Shamaal will travel to Thailand from August 26-28 to attend The Annual Defence Conference. Further, he would travel to Sri Lanka from August 29-10 to attend Colombo Defence Seminar. He is due to return back to Maldives on August 31.
Previously, last July Major General Shamaal travelled to India on an invitation from Chairperson of the Chief of Staff Committee.
