Home Ministry concludes 13th workshop to develop responsible citizens

Ministry of Home Affairs has concluded the 13th workshop under the programme initiated to develop responsible citizens. The closing ceremony of the workshop was attended by President of Thaa Atoll Council Rilwan Abdulla.

The workshop was participated by over 55 participants from 12 islands, including representatives from schools, local councils and organisations. During the workshop, participants were familiarised on different kinds of crimes and on how crime rates can be lowered. Further information was given on the importance of building a responsible future generation and the role played by each respective authority in achieving the target. Moreover, the workshop focused on informing participants on the importance of abiding by the laws and regulations to avoid societal issues.

The two-day workshop was held at Thaa Atoll Education Centre in Veymandoo in Thaa Atoll. The presentations and information were delivered by Maldives Police Service, Health Protection Agency (HPA), Local Government Authority (LGA), National Drug Agency (NDA), Juvenile Justice Unit, Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Ministry of Education.

The 12th workshop of the series was held in Raa Atoll.
