Home Ministry provides finances to 2 islands to conduct projects

Ministry of Home Affairs has provided financial assistance to conduct small scale projects in two islands.

The financial agreements were signed with Kumundhoo Island Council and Dhihdhoo Island Council. The agreements were signed by Senior Policy Executive Director Ibrahim Rasheed on behalf of home ministry while President of Dhihdhoo Island Council Mohamed Hashim and President of Kumundhoo Island Council Ameen Mohamed signed on behalf of their respective islands.

Under the grants, the councils should conduct the projects mentioned in the agreements. In this regard, a children’s park must be developed in Kumundhoo and road lights must be installed in Dhihdhoo.

As part of efforts to solve societal issues, home ministry will provide finances to 17 islands. In this regard, financial assistance will be provided to build parks in 6 islands, install road lights in 6 islands, construct walls around cemeteries in 4 islands and install harbour lights in 1 island.

The ministry has so far signed agreements with 10 islands.
