Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has revealed 259 cases were submitted in the second quarter of this year increasing the amount of the total cases submitted this year to 546.
Out of the 259 cases submitted in the second quarter, 251 cases were concluded by ACC, according to statistics. During the second quarter of last year, 124 cases were registered, while 110 cases were concluded.
ACC revealed the submitted cases are sent to the relevant authorities if they do not fall under its mandate. In this regard, ACC said in the second quarter 18 cases were sent to the relevant authorities, while only 8 such cases were sent in the same period of last year.
Furthermore, ACC stated 44 cases were rejected due to lack of information in addition to the cases which does not fit its mandate.
The statistics show most number of cases registered at the ACC are related to procurement. While 94 cases of procurement issues were registered in the second quarter of this year, the number stood at 44 last year.
