No Maldivian students injured in AIIMS Delhi fire

Embassy of Maldives in India has assured no Maldivian students were injured in the fire that broke out at All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). No student studying MBBS in the New Delhi institution were injured in the accident, according to Maldivian Embassy in India.

The fire broke out on the first to fifth floors of a building in the PC block of AIIMS Delhi. Initially, the fire was limited to the first two floors. The fire spread to the fifth floor with general ward patients being shifted to another ward.

Reports say the fire on the fifth floor is as a result of an AC compressor that blew up, while the fire on the first and second was due to a short circuit.

A press statement issued by AIIMS stated Delhi fire services along with AIIMS fire division controlled the fire within a few hours.
